The emblem chosen to illustrate the 1914 World Congress: fiveintertwined rings in different colors (blue, yellow, black, green and red) on the white field of the paper. These five rings represent the five parts of the world who have come together to Olympism and have agreed tocompete healthily.
In addition, the six colors combined represent all nations withoutexception. The blue and yellow of Sweden, the blue and white of Greece, the French tricolor, the British, Americans, Germans, Belgians, Italiansand Hungarians, the yellow and red of Spain lie next to the new Brazilianand Australian flags and those of ancient Japan and the young China. This is really an international emblem.
